While many nurseries in Southeast Queensland have closed due to increasing land pressures, Help Nursery is expanding and strengthening operations so we can continue supplying high quality plants for local councils, landscapers, and community projects.
“There is going to be a shortage of stock guaranteed by the time we get to the Olympics,” said Jose Florenciano, Help Nursery Horticulture Manager. “There are very few wholesale nurseries left in Brisbane, especially as close to the CBD as our Mitchelton Nursery.”
Help Nursery in Mitchelton is one of the few wholesale plant nurseries still operating close to Brisbane’s CBD, with space and capability to expand production.
Together with Help Nursery in Moreton Bay, the team is ramping up production of advanced trees, including the two metre street trees grown to Australian standards that are increasingly sought after along the eastern seaboard.
For more than 20 years, Help Nursery has supported Brisbane’s green spaces while providing meaningful employment for people with disability, working alongside experienced horticulture professionals.
Our team is known for handling complex orders for designers and landscapers, sourcing rare and specialty plants, and importantly growing and preparing large batches of stock for major projects.
Jose says the ability to combine expertise with purpose is what makes his role special. “Being a horticulturist is a worthy profession because you’re beautifying the environment,” he said. “But to, on top of that, support people with disability fills me with a lot of pride and passion.”
It’s this blend of skill, care, and community focus that continues to set Help Nursery apart.
Following the success of our first public sale in December last year, the Brisbane community will again have the chance to experience Help Nursery firsthand through our Plants with Purpose Big Sale Days.
The event marked a milestone for Help, which opened its gates to the public for the very first time. To stay updated on upcoming sale dates, join the Help Nursery – Exclusive Deals, Sales & Advice Group on Facebook

“We’re excited to open our doors to the community,” Jose said. “People can get great plants at great prices while supporting a worthy cause. Every plant purchased helps create jobs for people with disability.”
Visitors will have access to the same wholesale-quality stock that supplies Brisbane’s leading landscapers and designers, including the advanced trees and specialty plants.
As part of our evolving business model, Help Nursery has launched a Click and Collect service for retail customers, with delivery planned for the future.
“Customers can visit our website, select the stock they want, and purchase from us,” Jose said.
Every order directly supports meaningful employment for people with disability.
